Environmental Politics is an international, inter-disciplinary peer-reviewed journal, which provides a forum for the publication of original research into, and discussion and analysis of, the diverse theoretical and empirical aspects of environmental politics. It is primarily concerned with scholarship in political science, political sociology, and political theory, focusing on: Green parties and environmental social movements and NGOs; the definition, negotiation, and implementation of environmental policy; and environmental political thought, examining the ideas generated by environmental groups and organizations that underpin policy interventions of all kinds, and providing a venue for the critical and normative theoretical examination of environmental concerns.Environmental Politics is attentive to the diverse ways in which 'the environment' is and has been understood, and to the range of social and political strategies pursued in its name. The journal aims to explore this diversity, rather than to favour any one position in contemporary debates, and is open to the use of a variety of methods. The journal's focus is predominantly, though not exclusively, on the politics of the industrialized / post-industrial countries of the global North, encompassing global, national, and local scales of action and meaning, as well as international environmental issues. All submitted manuscripts are subject to initial appraisal by the Editors, and, if found suitable for further consideration, to anonymous (double-blind) peer review by reviewers with appropriate expertise.
