The journal publishes original articles in all areas of Agronomy, including soil sciences, agricultural entomology, soil fertility and manuring, soil physics, physiology of cultivated plants, phytopathology, phyto-health, phytotechny, genesis, morphology and soil classification, management and conservation of soil, integrated management of plant pests, vegetal improvement, agricultural microbiology and production and processing of seeds.The scientific journal UNIMAR started in 1974 and only in 1998 the name was changed to Acta Scientiarum to express the journal's contents and mission in publishing scientific articles. In 2003, the Acta Scientiarum was subsequently subdivided into various areas of knowledge, amongst them the quarterly Acta Scientiarum: Agronomy, with B2 ranking in the Qualis category of Capes in Agrarian Sciences.Impact Factor (JCR 2010): 0,805Its abbreviated title is Acta Sci., Agron.
